DHAKA: A Dhaka court rejected bail petitions to three BNP leaders including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases filed for killing people by torching bus at Paribagh of the city and so on.

The two other leaders are Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Dhaka City BNP member secretary Abdus Salam.

Dhaka District and Session Judge Ruhul Amin passed the order on completion of hearing on their bail petitions on Sunday morning.

Earlier on March 18, Session Judge Zhurul Islam fixed the date of hearing for Sunday after their lawyers sought bails.

On March 16, the three BNP leaders, who are now at Kashimpur Central Jail, surrendered before the chief metropolitan magistrate court and were sent to jail denying bail petition.
