BARISAL: Shawkat Hossain Hiron, member of the parliament from Barisal-5 constituency, also former mayor of Barisal City Corporation, was admitted into city’s Apollo Hospital in a critical condition.

At first, the lawmaker was rushed to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) with a head-injury after falling on the floor at his residence around 11:00pm Saturday.

Later, he was shifted to capital’s Apollo Hospital as his condition deteriorated, says sources concerned.

Duty doctor of SBMCH ‎Ranjit Khan said that he sustained critical injuries on his head that caused brain hemorrhage.

He was kept in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and then taken to operation theatre for a surgery.

The doctors of Apollo Hospital said that it cannot be said if the MP is out of danger before 72 hours have passed.
