MYMENSINGH: Ruling Awami League called half-day hartal in Gouripur upazila of the district for Sunday demanding release of Juba League leader Kamal Hossain.

Syed Rafiqul Islam made the hartal announcement on behalf of Municipal unit Awami League on Saturday afternoon.

He told to banglanews that police arrested Kamal to harass him.

Demanding Kamal’s immediately release, Rafiqul threatened otherwise they would go for hard-line.

Police sources informed that Kamal was arrested following the attack on former Health Minister Captain (retd) Mujibur Rahman Faki’s supporters.
