NARAYANGANJ: BNP called dawn-to-dusk hartal at Araihazar upazila in the district for Tuesday in protest against vote rigging.

Upazila BNP President Baruzzaman Khan Khasru made the announcement on Monday noon.

He brought allegation of casting fake votes, occupying polling centres and ousting BNP-backed candidate’s polling agents of the district

Earlier in the day, chairman and female vice-chairman candidates, backed by 19-party, submitted candidacy withdrawl letters to the upazila election officer.

They alleged that supporters of Awami League candidates cast fake votes, occupied polling centres and ousted BNP-backed candidate’s polling agents from the polling centres.
