DHAKA: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddique on Tuesday said the government does not have any plan to reduce call rate of mobile phone.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the assertion while addressing parliament in response to a question of Mostafijur Rahman MP.

He also told the House that, at present, minimum call rate in Bangladesh is Tk 0.25.

Abdul Latif Siddique also said Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is working to gripe illegal call termination.

The BTRC employees are not related with illegal termination rather they are trying to fix it, he told the House.
