SYLHET: Law enforcers recovered the body of a local level Awami League leader from Osmaninagar Thana of the district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased, Javed Ali, 50, was identified as organizing secretary of Osmanpur union of Osmaninagar Thana.

Officer-in-Charge of Osmaninagar Thana Juber Ahmed told banglanews that police recovered Javed’s body from his father-in-law’s house.

We suspect that he was suffocated, he added.

Police sent his body to Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, he added.

Police nabbed a suspect in this connection, he also said.
