Sabiha Musa,Khurshed Ara take oath

DHAKA: Two more female lawmakers elected uncontested for reserved seats in the 10th National Parliament took oath on Sunday morning.

They are- Awami League nominated Sabiha Nahar Begum alias Sabiha Musa and Jatiya Party (JP) nominated Khorshed Ara Haque.

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at 11:25am at her parliament office.   

Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Mian and opposition chief whip Tazul Islam Chowdhury were present during the time.

Earlier on April 10, the Election Commission (EC) declared that these two female candidates were elected uncontested.

On April 2, the commission declared their candidature valid after checking the nomination papers of the two candidates and no one submitted nomination paper for the seats.

According to the act of reserved women seats in Parliament Election-2014 sub-section 2 of section 12, Returning Officer Jesmin Tuli declared them elected.
