Plea to annul Khaleda’s indictment

DHAKA: An appeal petition was filed with High Court Sunday seeking its direction annulling Special Judges Court order that indicted BNP chief Khaleda Zia in two graft cases.

After filing the petition, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokan, Khaleda Zia’s lawyer, confirmed the matter to journalists.

On March 19, Special Judges Court-3 framed charges against nine persons including Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman in Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.

The trial will begin on April 21 with the recording of statement of the complainants.
