DHAKA: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between police and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir in wireless gate area of Mohakhali in the city on Monday morning.

The identity of the injured could not be known immediately.

Witnesses said that hundreds of Shibir men brought out a brisk procession around 9:15am in the area. Then using tear shell police attempted to disperse them that triggered a clash, leaving 10 people, including a police man, injured.

Police, however, detained a Shibir man from the spot.

Banani Thana Sub-Inspector Wahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
