CHITTAGONG: Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2015 is scheduled to kick-off on October 20.
Three local and five international football clubs will participate in this tournament.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the tournament through video conference.
These were disclosed in a press conference at Club Sports Complex in Chittagong district on Wednesday.
Chittagong Abahani will organize the tournament with the assistance of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). Saif Power Tec Limited will patronize the tournament.
This will be the first ever international football tournament by any Bangladeshi club.
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has approved the tournament as International Tier-2.
Matches of the 10-day tournament will be held at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Tournament committee chairman AJM Nasir Uddin, also Chittagong City Corporation mayor, Chittagong Abahani Ltd secretary general Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, MP, also tournament committee member and Saif Power Tec Limited managing director Tarafder Ruhul Amin, also chief coordinator of the tournament committee, among others, were present at the press conference.
Winning team and the best player of each match will receive $1,000 and $500 respectively.
Prize money for the champion team is $25,000 and the runner-up will receive $10,000.
