DHAKA: Rangpur Riders have beaten Dhaka Dynamites by 69-run in the seventh match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Earlier, Riders captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a challenging 176-run losing six wickets in their 20-over quota.
Lendl Simmons scored 51-run off 39-ball before being dismissed by Mosharraf Hossain. Besides, Mohammad Mithun, NLTC Perera, Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar scored 34, 27, 24 and 18 runs respectively.
Mustafizur Rahman and Yasir Shah took two wickets each while Abul Hasan and Mosharraf Hossain picked up one wicket each.
In response, Riders lost their wickets in regular interval. Brilliant bowling by ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan never really let Riders to fly high. He took four wickets giving away only 16-run from his four overs.
Besides, NLTC Perera, Arafart Sunny and Abu Jayed took, three, two and one-wicket respectively.
Kumar Sangakkara was the top scorer for Riders. He took 29 while Nasir Hossain, Nasir Jamshed, Yasir Shah and Abul Hasan scored 15, 11, 12 and 10 runs respectively.
This was the second win in three matches Riders have played so far. On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites have won one and lost one in two matches.
