DHAKA: Comilla Victorians beat Barisal Bulls by eight wickets with 12 balls remaining in the eighth match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Bulls captain Mahmudullah won the toss and elected to bat first. They started loosing wickets in pairs from the second over.
Tight line and length from Victorians bowlers and some irresponsible batting from Bulls led to the batting collapse. They managed to score a meager 89-run losing all wickets in 18.3-over.
Kevon Cooper scored 22-run off 21-ball while opener Rony Talukder took 17-run, and Sabbir Rahman amass 10-run, helping Bulls to set 90-run target. Third highest 12-run came from extra.
Nuwan Kulasekara and Ashar Zaidi took three wickets each while Abu Hider and Sunil Narine grabbed two and one-wicket respectively.
In response, Comilla Victorians chased down the total relatively easily. They, though, played 18-over the chase never really went out of their control.
Mahmudul Hasan scored 31-run while Marlon Samuels, Imrul Kayes and Shuvagata Hom took 23, 13 and 12 runs respectively. Al-Amin Hossain and Kevon Cooper took one wicket each.
