DHAKA: Rangpur Riders beat Sylhet Super Stars by eight wickets with 61 balls remaining in the 24th Match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in city’s Mirpur on Monday.
Rangpur Riders captain Shakib won the toss and invited Super Stars to bat first.
Left arm spinner Arafat Sunny, who opened the bowling for Riders, devastated the Super Stars batting line-up picking up four wickets giving away only 14-run in his four overs.
Besides, Mohammad Nabi took three wickets, Shakib Al Hasan picked up two wickets while Thisara Perera had one as Sylhet were bowled out for 59 runs in 11.5 overs.
Only Sohail Tanvir managed double digit score. He hit 20-run off 17-ball.
In response, Shakib Al Hasan led the demolition of Sylhet. He scored unbeaten 29-run off 24-ball and Soumya Sarkar took 11-run as they chased down the 60-run target losing two wickets in 9.5-over. Mohammad Shahid took two wickets.
Mashrafe’s Comilla Victorians are on the top spot in the table with 12-point from eight matches while Shakib’s Rangpur Riders are at the second spot with same number of points from nine matches.
Barisal Bulls and Dhaka Dynamites are on the third and fourth spots with 10 and 6-point respectively.
Sylhet Super Stars and Chittagong Vikings both team secured only 4-point and are on the fifth and sixth places respectively.
