DHAKA: Visiting Zimbabwe leveled the Walton T20 Cricket series by winning the fourth and final T20 match by 18-run against host Bangladesh at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Friday.
While chasing a mammoth 181-run target, hosts managed to score 162-run losing 10 wickets in 19-over.
Mahmudullah hit 54-run while Mashrafe, Imrul Kayes, Nurul Hasan, Abu Hider, Soumya Sarker and Arafat Sunny scored 22, 18, 15, 14, 11 and 10 runs respectively.
N Madziva picked up four wickets. Besides, TS Chisoro, Sikandar Raza and LM Jongwe took three, two and one wickets respectively.
Earlier in the day, visitors’ captain E Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bat first in the match that started at 3:00pm (local time).
They scored 180-run losing four wickets in their 20-over quota. Hamilton Masakadza played a scintillating innings of 93-run off 58-ball and takes Zimbabwe to 180. He stayed there from the start to end, and guided his team through.
Besides, R Mutumbami and MN Waller accompanied him with 32 and 36 runs.
Tiger bowlers were quite bad in the first few overs and that extended to the middle overs, with frequent full tosses and hittable deliveries. They bounced back well towards the end.
Mashrafe Mortaza, Abu Hider, Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each.
Bangladesh brought three changes in the match. Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny are in for Muktar Ali, Mohammad Shahid and Mosaddek Hossain.
