DHAKA: Following the glorious year 2015 for Bangladesh cricket, Wisden India honored tigers ODI & T20I skipper Mashrafe Mortaza as one of the six Cricketers of the Year for their terrific performances in 2014-15.

According to the list of best cricketers of the year, published by Wisden India on Friday, the other five cricketers are Ravichandran Ashwin, Vinay Kumar, Dhammika Prasad, Younis Khan and Joe Root.

It was under Mashrafe’s leadership that Bangladesh enjoyed their most successful period in ODIs till date in 2015.
 
The year started with qualifying to the Quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup, which was the first time ever for Bangladesh.

Besides, Bangladesh moved up to the seventh position in ICC ODI Rankings in 2015 and confirmed a spot in the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in England in 2017.
