DHAKA: England Under-19s won by 299 runs over Fiji in the Group C match of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, 2016 in Chittagong on Wednesday.
Chasing 372-run target, Fiji under-19 scored 72 with loss of all 10 wickets in 27.3 overs.
S Mahmood and SM Curran bagged three wickets each while BGF Green picked up two wickets.
Earlier, England scored 371 for three wickets in 50-overs of the Group C match that started at MA Aziz Stadium in the port city.
England won the toss and elected to bat.
From Wednesday (January 27), nine Test-playing nations and seven Associate and Affiliate Members – Afghanistan, Canada, Fiji, Namibia, Nepal, Ireland and Scotland – started battle for supremacy in the 19-day event that will unveil the stars of the future.
Teams have been divided into four groups with the top two in each advancing to the Super League quarter-finals and the other two qualifying for the Plate Championships.
