DHAKA: India Under-19s won by 79 runs in the Group D match against Ireland in the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur of Dhaka.
Chasing 269-run target set by India, Ireland lost all wickets after scoring 189 runs in 49.1 overs.
Lorcan Tucker and William McClintock scored two fifties with 57 and 58 runs respectively.
Rahul Batham bagged three wickets while Avesh Khan and Mahipal Lomror picked up two wickets each for India.
Sarfaraz Khan was declared as Man of the Match.
Earlier, India Under-19 team scored 268-run losing nine wickets from their 50-over quota in the match that started at 9:00am on Thursday (January 28).
Ireland Under-19s won the toss and elected to field first.
Irish bowlers ripped the India top order by returning four batsmen to pavilion on 55-run in 16.5-over.
Later, Sarfaraz Khan and Washington Sundar reconstructed the innings. Sarfaraz was the top scorer with 74-run while Washington hit 62-run.
J Little and R Anders picked up three wickets each for Ireland.
