DHAKA: England batsmen are facing West Indies bowling in the seventh match of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Friday (January 29).
DW Lawrence and MDE Holden opened innings from England and are at the crease with 9 and 0 runs respectively.
England Under-19s won the toss and elected to bat in the Group C match that started at 9:00am in Chittagong.
It will be West Indies' opening game of the tournament and England's second after having played Fiji on January 27.
England have just one victory from their 10 appearances in Under-19 World Cups and that was way back in 1998. They would be inching to repeat the feat this time after a gap of 18 years.
English fans will be hoping that they begin their journey with a victory while West Indies, who have never won an Under-19 World Cup so far, would try their best to turn around the tables this time. West Indies were runners-up in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup.
