DHAKA: Namibia beat Scotland by nine wickets in the ninth match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar on Friday.
Chasing 160–run target set by Scotland, Namibia Under-19s scored 161 runs, losing only one wicket in 26 over in the Group A match.
SJ Loftie-Eaton (67 off 78 balls), Niko Davin (52 off 37 balls) provided the stability and put up 95-run opening partnership.
Alongside the openers, Zane Green with a brilliant knock (39 off 42 balls) helped Namibia to secure a big win.
Earlier, Scotland lost all 10 wickets, scoring 159 runs in 36.3 overs.
M van Lingen bagged three tickets while W van Wyk, SJ Loftie-Eaton and C Brits picked up two wickets each for Namibia.
Scotland U19 won the toss and elected to bat first.
Group A consists of defending champion and hosts Bangladesh, Scotland and Namibia.
The ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 got underway from the January 27 with hosts Bangladesh taking on defending champions South Africa at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chittagong.
The Tournament will end which started on January 27 will conclude on February 14. The participating teams are divided into four groups A,B,C and D.
