DHAKA: England Under-19s have beaten Zimbabwe Under-19s by 129 runs in the 15th Match of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday (January 31).
Earlier, England Under-19s captain BJ Taylor won the toss and elected to bat first in the Group C match that began at 9:00am.
Thanks to the top order of England U-19s, they scored a daunting 288-run losing four wickets in their 50-over quota.
JTA Burnham hit unbeaten 106-run while DWA Lawrence and MDE Holden scored 59 and 51 runs respectively.
Zimbabwe’s R Magarira picked up two wickets while W Madhevere and WT Mashinge took one wicket each.
While chasing, Zimbabwe managed to score 159-run only losing all wickets in 43.4-over. J Ives hit 91-run.
Of the England bowlers, S Mahmood picked up four wickets and CJ Taylor took three.
England Under-19s, as the Group champion, have secured their spot Super League of the tournament from Group C while West Indies Under-19s and Zimbabwe will lock horns on February 2 for the second spot.
