DHAKA: Afghanistan Under-19s chased down a target of 149-run losing six wickets in just 24.1-over against Canada Under-19s in the 18th Match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday (February 1).
Earlier, winning the toss, Canada Under-19s captain Abraash Khan elected to bat first in the Group B match that kicked off at 9:00 in the morning.
His batsmen, however, failed to confirm the decision right. Canada Under-19s scored a meager 147-run losing all wickets from their 50-over quota.
Captain Abraash Khan and Arslan Khan scored 33 and 38 runs respectively.
Of the Afghan U-19 bowlers, Shamsurrahman and Muslim Musa picked up three wickets each while Rashid Khan took two. Besides, Tariq took one wicket from his four over.
While chasing, Afghanistan Under-19s reached their target losing six wickets in just 24.1-over. Tariq hit 56-run while Ihsanullah and Karim Janat took 31 and 29 runs respectively.
Of the Canada Under-19s bowlers, M Patel took three wickets while Patel took two.
Tariq was adjudged player-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
