DHAKA: New Zealand Under-19s have beaten Ireland Under-19s by four wickets with 47-ball to spare in the 20th Match of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah in Narayanganj on Monday (February 1).
New Zealand Under-19s captain JL Finnie won the toss and invited to Ireland to bat first in the Group D match that began half of an hour later than the scheduled time due to dense fog.
The match was curtailed to 48-over a side.
J Tector, A Dennison and G McClintock’s 56, 46 and 34 runs respectively helped Ireland reach 212-run losing all wickets from 47.5-over.
New Zealand’s JL Finnie, R Ravindra took three Irish wickets each.
The Kiwi youths chased down the target of 213-run losing six wickets from 40.1-over.
FH Allen hit 97-run. Besides, DN Phillips and GD Phillips scored 58 and 34 runs respectively.
R Anders picked up four wickets while F Tucker took two.
