DHAKA: South Africa Under-19s have secured a consolation win over Scotland Under-19s by 10-wkt in the 22nd Match of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday (February 2).
Winning the toss, South Africa Under-19s captain T de Zorzi elected to field first in the Group A match that kicked off at 9:00am local time.
Proteas bowlers’ unfurled venom in the dead rubber here. They took all wickets of Scotland giving away only 127-run from 45.4-over.
PWA Mulder, AD Galiem, SA Whitehead and T de Zorzi took two wickets each while L Philander took one.
Of the young Scottish batsmen, HG Carnegie, FDW McCreath, Owais Shah, RG Brown and MD Rao scored 29, 24, 13, 11 and 10 runs.
In response, two openers of South Africa Under-19s chased down the target of 128-run in just 29-over. Openers K Verreynne and L Smith hit 64 runs each.
