DHAKA: South Africa won by eight wickets against Ireland in the ninth Place Play-off Quarter-Final of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar on Thursday.
L Smith (49 off 100 balls) K Verreynne (77 off 149 balls) and PWA Mulder (43 off 60 balls) helped the proteans to reach the target set by Ireland.
Earlier, Ireland scored 185-run for seven wickets in the 50-over match that started at 9:00am.
AD Galiem and WC Ludick bagged two wickets each for South Africa.
K Verreynne of South Africa Under-19 batsman was honored with player of the match.
Ireland Under-19s won the toss and elected to bat.
This match was the second 9th place play-off Quarter-Final of the tournament which will be played between the two teams from Group D and Group A.
