DHAKA: Afghanistan will take on United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first qualifier of the upcoming Asia Cup 2016 at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadum (KSOAS) in Fatullah on Friday (February 19).

The 20-over match will begin at 1:30pm.

Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman and UAE will compete for the lone spot in the main round featuring the four Asian Test nations.

All six qualifiers will be held at KSOAS in Narayanganj between February 19 and 22.
   
The 13th edition of the Asia Cup, arranged by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), will commence from February 24 and end on   March 06.

Bangladesh is hosting the event for the fifth time.

This year’s event will be played using the Twenty20 format for the first time.

The participating teams are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and a qualifier.

All matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
