DHAKA: Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza said Bangladesh are targeting to reach second round of the ICC World Twenty20 after crossing the qualifier stage.
He talked about the team’s target while entering the Airport for fly to India to join T20 World Cup.
The sixth edition of World T20 is set to get under way on March 8 with eight teams, under two groups, to face off in the qualifier stage.
Team Mashrafe entered the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport through gate no. 6 around 8:15am.
Mashrafe also said, ‘We were not consistent in the performance of the T20 format of the cricket. But we have achieved confidence through winning two big matches.’
‘Our target is to play in the World Cup, qualify for main round of the tournament.’
In the just end Asia Cup, Bangladesh have won over Pakistan and Sri Lanka to reach final.
Ireland, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Oman are in Group A while Scotland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Hong Kong will take on each other from Group B.
The top team from each group will qualify for the main tournament that will start on March 15.
