DHAKA: Bangladesh cricket team left Dhaka for India on Monday (March 7) morning to join Twenty 20 World Cup to be commenced on March 15.
Team Mashrafe entered Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport through gate no. 6 around 8:00am.
After completing all formalities, tigers in a flight of Jet Airways have flown to New Delhi, the capital city of India, around 10:05am.
From there, Bangladesh team will fly to Dharmashala city of Himachal Pradesh in a flight booked by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Bangladesh have to play three qualifiers against Netherlands, Ireland and Oman on March 9, 11 and 13.
Eight teams will play in main round of this year’s T20 World Cup directly and two teams from qualifying round.
The sixth edition of World T20 is set to get underway on March 8 with eight teams, under two groups, to face off in the qualifier stage.
Ireland, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Oman are in Group A while Scotland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Hong Kong will take on each other from Group B.
The top team from each group will qualify for the main tournament that will start on March 15.
