India women facing Bangladesh bowlers

DHAKA: Indian women are facing Bangladesh bowlers in the Women's World T20 opener at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore in Bangalore of India on Tuesday (March 15).

Vellaswamy Vanitha and Mithali Raj have opened the innings in the Group B match that started at 4:00pm (Bangladesh Time).

The hosts have scored 16 runs without loss at the end of two overs.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women Jahanara Alam has won the toss and invited India to bat first.

Bangladesh captain Jahanara Alam said, ‘This is a new environment, first match in the World Cup. My team's strength is bowling. India is a strong team. We will look to keep them under 120-130.’

India captain Mithali Raj said, ‘We would have batted first. Looking forward to a good start. We met them in the last edition in Bangladesh. They are a good side and we want to take one game at a time’.
