DHAKA: Cricket’s apex body International Cricket Council (ICC) has temporarily banned Bangladesh left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny from bowling.

The bowling action of Tiger left-arm spinner deemed as improper by ICC.

Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud disclosed the matter on Saturday (March 19).

Meanwhile, sources from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) told banglanews that Arafat Sunny will be replaced by Saqlain Sajib.

The left-arm orthodox man, along with pacer Taskin Ahmed, was reported for suspected actions during Bangladesh’s ICC World T20 Group A match against the Netherlands on March 9.

Later, they attended a biomechanical test in Chennai.

Sunny will not be able to bowl in the international cricket. He will have to go through corrective measures to be arranged by the ICC, Khaled Mahmud added.
