DHAKA: Shashank Manohar has resigned as the president of Indian Cricket Board a week before the International Cricket Council (ICC) set to begin a secret ballot to elect its first independent chairman.
He took over the position following the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya in September 2015.
According to the executive board of the ICC, it has set a rule that the chairman should be of independent nature and can't act in dual role keeping his position as his country's cricketing chief.
