DHAKA: Telenor Norway said it has started rolling out 1,000 new base stations as it upgrades it existing 4G network with the addition of spectrum on the 800 MHz band, with the aim of providing LTE coverage to 111 towns and villages by summer.
In particular, Telenor is aiming to improve regional and indoor coverage.
The 800 MHz band provides double or treble the coverage reach per location, said Bjorn Amundsen, coverage director at Telenor Norway.
The company was awarded spectrum in the 800 MHz band in December’s auction, reports telecompaper.com.
