DHAKA: Airtel Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing telecom operator in Bangladesh, has started its 3G service in Bogra, said a press release.
Shafiqur Reza Biswas, Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Bogra officially inaugurated Airtel’s 3G service as the Chief Guest through a video call from Bogra with Airtel’s CEO and Managing Director, Chris Tobit at Dhaka.
M Shafiqur Reza Biswas, Honorable Deputy Commissioner said, “We are immensely pleased at the introduction of Airtel’s 3G services in Bogra.”
He added: “We are hopeful that Airtel’s 3G services will enable growth and development of communication and connectivity in the region which will bring significant changes in the education and economy here.”
Chris Tobit said, “Bogra is a significant region for introducing 3G services for our valued customers there. At Airtel, our prime focus is the delivery of the most superior quality of 3G experiences and further expansion of our 3G networks.”
Tobit added: “Our 3G services have already reached significant areas of the most important cities of the country like Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Comilla, Khulna, Rajshahi and now Bogra. This will connect Bogra to the rest of the world and will bring positive changes in education and economy here. We are committed to cover the rest of the country’s divisional headquarters with 3G service by mid 2014.”
Special Guest, M Mozammel Haque, Police Super, Bogra district, M Masudur Rahman Milon, President, Bogra Chamber of Commerce and Industry were present at the event along with Airtel’s Chief Operating Officer, Rajnish Kaul, Chief Service Officer Rubaba Dowla, Chief Technical Officer Sandipan Chakraborty, and Chief Information Officer Lutfor Rahman were among others present on the occasion.
The 3G services of Airtel are designed to enrich the lifestyle of customers in both urban and rural front. The services offered are focused heavily on entertainment, infotainment, edutainment, m-commerce, m-health etc.
Airtel is already providing best in class services in these categories and with 3G coming into play, Airtel will be able to serve their customers better, based on their experience in the global front.
