DHAKA: Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 6 could be released on September 9, according to a leaked photo by a French website.
On August 25, nowhereelse.fr posted a photo of what it claimed was Apple’s new smartphone’s promotional artwork.
The artwork showed the date Tuesday September 9, tallying with earlier reports saying the company was planning a media event that day, said The Telegraph, reports The Straits Times.
According to Mashable, the date does not come as a surprise because Apple typically launches its smartphones in September. In 2013, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C were unveiled on the second Tuesday of the month, September 10.
The leaked image also shows some design tweaks, Mashable adds, such as the shape of the phone’s volume buttons and sleep/wake button.
However, rival site MacRumours has reportedly questioned the photo's authenticity, pointing out the font used in the artwork is not consistent with Apple’s style.
