DHAKA: Facebook has launched a new update to its search product allowing users to search for specific posts and not just other people and pages using keywords.
Now, when users type an entry into Facebook’s search box, it would offer keyword suggestions for any name that is entered, reported the First Post.
Users would still be able to search for other people using graph search, report added.
Facebook’s product manager Verge, regarding the matter, said that Faceook believes people want a faster mobile search which is the reason why the new search update is designed to work better on mobiles.
He said that users share what makes us human on Facebook and that is really powerful.
However, according to him, it will be soon updated on iOS operating system. “Later, it would available to all U.S. users within a few weeks and later to all.”
Earlier this year, Facebook had started testing the Graph Search on mobile as well. Graph Search also aims at making search smarter and was initially available only for desktop.
For those not in the know, Facebook’s Graph Search is a great new way to find people, places and other topics on the social networking website.
You can use simple phrases like “Friends of friends who live nearby and like Heavy Metal” or “My friends who have been to McDonalds”. A whole new page will pop up using which you can refine search results to find exactly the people and places you’ve been looking for.
