Banglalink introduces Google Android One

DHAKA: Banglalink, as the first mobile operator of the country, on Sunday has introduced a Google Android One smartphone in partnership with country's one of the largest handset company, Symphony.

Irum Iqbal, the head of Value Added Services (VAS) and Data & Devices of Banglalink along with Symphony senior director Rezwanul Haque and the company’s assistant director Ashraful Haque unveiled the phone on Sunday morning at Banglalink’s headquarters in city’s Gulshan.

The Symphony Roar A50, which features all the latest technologies and facilities including Quad-Core processor and 1 GB RAM along with Dual SIM support besides having Android Kitkat 4.4.4 as the operating system, priced at Tk 8,700 only.

After pre-booking at www.banglalink.com.bd/androidone address (starting from monday) the handset will be delivered in mid-January with a free 8 GB Memory card.

Moreover, Banglalink will provide 1 gigabyte of free data on the purchase of a handset, along with an additional free 300 megabytes of data to upgrade and download applications for next five months.

Not only that, the Android One users will also get free upgrades for the next two years.

Regarding the launching of the new handset, Banglalink’s head of Value Added Services (VAS) and Data & Devices, Irum Iqbal told banglanews that Banglalink always tries to let its customers have a positive change through new features and technologies. “We hope that our clients will be more relaxed with our new initiative.”

On the other hand, Symphony senior director Rezwanul Haque said that his company is also hopeful about people’s smartphone experience will be changed after having the Roar A50 at affordable price.

In a bid to improve emerging markets, Google introduced the Android One Program on last June in which the search giant in partnership with local handset vendor is launching affordable handsets.

Along with the existing partners Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, which released phones in India, Symphony has also join the rally of Android One for Bangladesh.
