DHAKA: State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Monday said some 34,000 youths are being given training on information technology.
Moreover, the training organizations will provide jobs for sixty percent of the trainees.
Among the youths, some 20,000 are being given basic training.
A total of 10,000 will be trained with top IT training for quality development while 4,000 to be built as track future leader.
The state minister made the remarks at a press conference in Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium on Monday.
Palak said some 26,000 people, including 12,000 women had been trained under ‘Learning and Earning’ project and the training organizations will provide ‘freelancing training’ for more 55,000 people in two years.
Currently, some 1,000 employees of IT or ITES sector under ‘High Tech Park’ are providing trainings for midlevel professionals, he added.
Palak said, a total of 36 organizations have giving training to some 3,000 people under ‘Skill Enhance Program’ of ‘High Tech Park’. They trained 1,000 people in 2014 and other 1,450 people now receiving the training.
The state minister said all upazilas across the country have been connected with Fiber Optic Network under ‘Bangla Govnet’ and ‘Info Government’ with which 18,132 government organizations will remain connected.
The secretariat has come under the coverage of free WiFi network connecting 31 kilometers fiber optic cable network from BCC to the secretariat. The network will strengthen the activities of the administration, he added.
