DHAKA: The government on Thursday started distributing 25,000 tablet PCs (tabs) among the public servants as part of its ongoing digitization process.
Prime Minister's ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy inaugurated Tab distribution program at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in capital’s Agargaon area this morning.
A total of 18,000 tablets, out of 25000, were distributed on the day.
Later, Joy talked to Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer, leaders of Awami League through Videoconference. During the time, he urged them to utilize those devices for the welfare of the people.
Information and Communication Technology Secretary Shaym Sundor Shikder and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman Sunil Kanti Bose were, among others, present in the program.
Government officials got a 10.1 inch HUAWEI mediaPad 10 FHD tablet PC, high quality with comfortable hand touch feeling. Its operating system Android can be upgraded from Ice-cream Sandwich to jellybean 4.1.
