DHAKA: All world class brands and companies are likely to spend 40 percent of their budget in the online sector (Digital Marketing) within 2016.
Bangladesh will be also a partner in that initiative. The multi-national companies are already spending 30-35 percent of their budget in digital marketing here in this country.
Group CEO of REVE Systems Group, a Bangladeshi Software Company, M Rezaul Hassan made the comment while forecasting the potentialities of digital marketing or online marketing in Bangladesh.
The four-day (February 9-12) long Information & Technology affairs fair “Digital World-2015” is currently being held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city.
Besides Bangladesh, REVE is doing business in USA, Singapore, UK and in the Middle East. The company is contemplating on entering the markets of the subcontinent and China soon.
Speaking on digital marketing Rezaul Hassan told that there is no policy guideline on Online marketing in the country. “I don’t think there is any need of policy guide line,” he added.
He further said, “Marketing means just to promote the quality of products or to promote the service and to create purchasers. Whenever you do this on online that is ‘digital marketing’.”
Rezaul Hassan also said that under the conventional system of marketing, the advertisements of products are displayed either on bill boards or by TV commercial, online media or through print media.
But one thing you must keep in mind that throughout the world, including Bangladesh, users of smart phones are increasing rapidly. During last five years, the number of smart phone users in Bangladesh has increased significantly which has also helped increase the number of internet users and other social media visitors creating a new trend of digital marketing.
The owner of Reve Rezaul Hassan thinks that the IT is flourishing here remarkably.
He opined that the achievement of IT sector is very satisfactory. The government should always play a supporting role in creating the environment. When the government will give importance it will flourish more. The entrepreneurs should utilize the facilities provided by the government.
Reve also participated in the last two fairs. Comparing with the last two fairs, Reve CEO told that the more people visitors are coming this time. In the sideline of the fair, seminars are also being held regularly giving an extra attraction to the fair which was not seen before.
He also praised the infrastructure for the IT sector in the country. The country is entering the age of 3G from 2G. It was learnt that 4G will also be introduced during the incumbent government’s tenure.
“The country is also going to be connected with another sub-marine cable. Overall the infrastructural facilities are very much conducive,” he added.
“Every body will accept technological products helpful for people. But we cannot make products for the masses. Besides, though we manage to manufacture products, we fail to market it. This is why, we need a big budget for product development,” Rezaul Hassan added.
