CHITTAGONG: The government will set up a Cyber City in Bakalia of the port city and Hi-Tech Park at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak for Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology made assertion while addressing the inauguration program of ‘Digital Innovation Fair’ in Chittagong Outer Stadium area on Thursday.
Chittagong District Administration organized the fair under the project of Access to Information (A2I) of Prime Minister Office (PMO).
Mentioning that Chittagong is an important part of Digital Bangladesh, the state minister said the Cyber City would be established on some 98 acres land in Bakalia and the High-tech Park would get 300 acres land in CUET.
Adding that 60 percent of the population comprises young people, he said those youths are pushing the wheel for development of our country.
The state minister expressed hope that some 55,000 youths will earn money through freelance outsourcing within next three years.
He also declared that Digital Computer Lab would be installed in every school within next two years so that the students can attain knowledge about the information technology at the beginning of the education.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mezbah Uddin presided over the program where MP Waseka Ayesha and Secretary Shyam Sundar Sikdar of ICT division were among others present at the function.
