DHAKA: Bangladesh is ready to set a world record by adding four lakhs Bangla words in Google Translate, a free online language translation service, with the view to enrich Bangla words on Google on March 26, the Independence Day.
The words are being included with the help of Google Developer’s Group-Bangla (DGG Bangla) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division.
State minister for ICT affairs Zunaid Ahmed Palak will disclose the detail in a press conference at 11am of Friday.
ICT division’s public relations officer Abu Naser disclosed the matter in a press briefing at the BCC bhaban at Agargaon in city.
He further said the addition of words will make translation into English easier and help those who were weak in English.
Earlier, students from Daffodil International University set a record by adding 324,974 words only in 10 days.
