DHAKA: The government has decided to establish the high-tech park at Keraniganj, outskirts of the capital, aimed at the development of human resources in the country.
Software and hardware industry will be built at the park, said sources concerned.
The work is already in progress to build Software Technology Parks in Gazipur and Jessore districts. Besides, government has a goal to establish hi-tech park in every district of the country.
The government has decided to take care of all sectors from one place by installing digitalized system in every sector. So, they have given special attention to the establishment of hi-tech park in rest of districts.
The incumbent government has already sought financial assistance from the World Bank for setting up the software and hardware technology over 43 acres of land in Keraniganj.
According to sources, State Minister for Information and Technology affairs Junaid Ahmed Palak and World Bank's Senior Information and communication technology expert Xi Zhu had a meeting on April 20.
A three-member delegation accompanied Xi in the meeting, where the state minister sought financial support from the World Bank for the establishment of hi-tech park.
The World Bank gave their consent in the project, said sources.
