DHAKA: Under the project of internet.org, the government is going to introduce free internet services from Sunday in the country.

Government’s information and communication technology (ICT) department, Facbook and Robi Axiata joined hands to provide the facilities.

Officers of ICT department said in first phase, users can login to national web portal, service portal, national form portal, some newspapers and some government websites at free of cost.

All government sites will gradually come under the project.

ICT department public relations officer (PRO) Abu Naser said the service will be inaugurated at a city hotel at 11:00am on Sunday.

State minister for information and communication technology affairs Zunaid Ahmed Palak will present as chief guest, the PRO added.

Besides, officers from Facebook and Robi Axiata will attend the program.
