DHAKA: The 15th Dhaka Laptop Fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city has rolled into the last day on Saturday amid special offers and price discounts to the buyers.
Several internationally acclaimed brands are conceding from Tk 1,500 to Tk 10,000 on the price of laptops for the fair, which began on May 11 and is set to be closed at 8:00pm on Saturday.
The three-day fair has drawn large crowd on Friday, the weekly holiday, as people from all walks of life visited the fairground to buy their desired devices.
Besides, buyers are getting pen-drives, mouse and polo-shirts for buying laptops from specific models. Android tabs are there as prizes in the raffle draw.
Theme of the fair is "Laptop for All”.
So far 50 stalls along with seven mini pavilions and three pavilions have been setup at the fairground.
Top brands such as Apple, Dell, HP, Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba, Gigabyte, Compaq, Samsung, Fujitsu, Gateway, Asus, MSI, and BenQ are displaying their products there.
Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the fair on Thursday (May 14).
Techshohor.com is the title sponsor of the show while Accer, Asus, HP and Dell are the co-sponsors of the event.
Entry ticket is priced at Tk 30 but entrance for the students up to class X will be free.
However, the organizers said that 25 percent of the earnings from the fair tickets will be donated to the earthquake victims in Nepal.
Gigabyte has setup a gaming zone, organized by Radio Today, Edumaker and Trone, for the fair visitors.
