DHAKA: Star Computer Systems Limited’s (SCSL) software department announced that it has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
The appraisal was performed by QAI India Limited, said a press release.
CMMI is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
“It is an incredible accomplishment for SCSL to achieve CMMI Maturity Level 3,” said SCSL Director and COO Rezwana Khan.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.
The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
“It took a lot of effort by our talented people. The rating will give us a tremendous competitive edge. It reinforces our capability in project management which enables us to deliver the best software solutions and services to our customers,” Rezwana Khan added.
The CMMI Institute, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges.
