DHAKA: One of the biggest ever expositions in the ICT sector in the country, Bangladesh ICT Expo will start from June 15.
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the apex trade association of the ICT industry, and the ICT division of post and telecommunication ministry will jointly organize the 3-day event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in city.
President Adbul Hamid is expected to inaugurate the event to promote the country as brand in the global market to enhance the concept of “Made in Bangladesh”.
BCS President AHM Mahfuzul Arif said, “We are going to get a country led by ICT. For that we all, both government and private sector, need to work together. We want to recognize our talents and innovations hidden in young minds as well as to promote our youths are using technology.”
“Bangladesh ICT Expo-2015 will be organised on 50,000 square feet space of BICC and nearly 400,000 visitors are expected to visit the fair,” BCS President added.
The organizer designed the expositions in way that will serve as a platform to transform Bangladesh from the common trend as “Technology Consumers” to “Technology Manufacturer”.
The exposition would be a gathering of local and international ICT experts where the participants will share and exchange their knowledge on ICT advancement and its challenges.
“Several seminars will be arranged during the exposition that will bring the future technology to the young minds,” Mahfuzul Arif detailed his vision.
The expo convener and BCS vice-president Mazibur Rahman Swapan said, “We convey some special initiatives in the fair like “Innovation Zone” where the innovations of young researchers will be displayed.
As many as 10 seminars on specific issues including Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Cyber Security etc. will be held.
Besides, a conference titled “Future Entrepreneur Conference” to promote the young start-ups in technology business will be available.
The technology loving people will get opportunity to take part in Digital Photo Contest, Selfie Contest, Gaming Contest and Drawing Contest for Children.
An Art Competition will also be held during the fair on ‘Future Dream Device’ where the kids can participate in two different age categories. It will be held on June 16 at 4:00pm on the event premises. The registration for contest is available at www.ictexpo.com.bd.
Product showcasing along with Sponsors Hour and Cultural Show are scheduled besides the regular knowledge sharing sessions in the carnival.
Bangladesh Computer Council, Access to Information Programme (A2I) under Prime Minister Office, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Forum are working as associates of this mega event organize by BCS & ICT Division.
ATN Bangla, Bangla daily ‘Samakal’ and Radio Today are the media partners of the event.
The exposition will be open to all from 10:00am to 8:00pm during the schedule and visitors will get attractive offers and prizes after attending different arranges at the event.
