DHAKA: Google has released the official Android 6.0 SDK for developers and opened Google Play to testing the first apps based on the latest version of the operating system.
Known as ‘Android Marshmallow’, the latest OS was first previewed in May at Goolge I/O.
Its new features include support for fingerprint authentication, the ‘Doze’ power-saving mode and a new system to streamline permissions for app installs and updates.
Android Marshmallow is available now in the final developer preview version and is expected to start rolling out to the public later this autumn, reports telecompaper.com.
