DHAKA: State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday said that it is possible to promote the amount of annual income to $50 billion from the IT sector by 2041 from the current 300m.
He was addressing a daylong workshop in a city hotel on finalizing the hi-tech policy and roadmap.
The state minister said that currently labor-based economy is dominating the country’s economy.
He further said, “Incumbent government is working on building merit-based digital economy. We will train two lakhs youth about IT within two years”.
Commenting that IT sector would be the country’s lifeline, Palak said that government is building a hi-tech park on 232-acre land at Kaliakoir of Gazipur.
With hi-tech Park managing director Hosne Ara Begum in the chair, ICT secretary Shyam Sundar Sikder also addressed the program.
