DHAKA: The three-day ‘Bangladesh ICT Expo-2016’ will begin in city on Thursday (Match 3) with the slogan of ‘Meet Digital Bangladesh’.

The exposition, to be organized by ICT department and Bangladesh Computer Samity, will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) till March 5.

The expo convener Nazrul Islam said at a press conference held at BICC on Tuesday (March 1).

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Bangladesh High-tech Authority, ICT department and Controller of Certifying Authority will assist the organizers.

Moreover, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS), Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Bangladesh Association of Call Centre and Outsourcing (BACCO) will also participate in organizing the fair.

According to the convener, 59 pavilions and 70 stalls will be setup at the fairground.

The fairground will be divided into several zones including of local manufacturers, product show-casing, innovation, meet with international manufacturers, digital lifestyle, mega sale, and business to business matchmaking.

IT experts from the USA, China, Malaysia, India, Singapore and other countries will take part in the discussions during the exposition.

Over 100 local and 20 international companies will attend the event, he added.

According to the organizers, there will be no entry fee and the event venue will provide high-speed internet facilities for the visitors.
