DHAKA: The state-owned mobile operator Teletalk started a new journey with a new logo to attract more subscribers.
Posts, telecommunications and IT state minister Tarana Halim unveiled the logo with ‘Swapna Hasimukher’ (Dream a Smiling Face) slogan and inaugurated the re-branding program on Tuesday evening (March 8) at Bashundhara International Convention City.
‘The program has been arranged to establish Teletalk as one of the top cell phone operators in the country,’ she said.
The state minister further said that the telecommunication company does not want to offer lucrative packages for its subscribers.
‘We want to hold a competitive market for all operators. We want to come in this competition without providing any additional offer.’
She also hoped that the state-owned company will comeback to competitive market soon by keeping its previous failure away.
Posts and telecommunications department secretary and also Teletalk chairman Faizur Rahman Chowdhury presided over the re-branding ceremony, attended by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud as special guest.
According to BTRC, Teletalk has so far 42.11-lakhs users among 131,956,000 users of six telecom companies of the country.
However, Teletalk gets new 68,000 users in January, the BRTC data said.
