DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the authorities concerned to establish environment-friendly Hi-Tech parks in the country.
She made this instruction in a meeting with the board of governors of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park authorities at PMO in city on Wednesday (March 9).
The PM also president of the board of governors chaired the meeting.
PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the media after the meeting.
The premier hoped to ensure employment of 10 lakh people in IT sector and earn five billion US dollars in 2021.
‘Local and foreign investment will come to the Hi-Tech parks and it will increase our export,’ she added.
She was informed about the progress of construction of Hi-Tech parks in different parts of the country, including the Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakoir of Gazipur district.
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, industries minister Amir Hossain Amu, commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, PMO’s principal secretary Abul Kalam Azad and PM’s ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, among others, were present at the meeting.
